The red color showing caused damage in Team Fortress 2 can be a bit tricky to see. If you prefer yellow color (more apparent) do like this:

1. Open Steam / steamapps / username / team fortress 2 / tf / resource
2. In the resource-folder create a new folder and name it ui
3. In the ui-folder place this Link
4. Done
